Queen Aminata Crowned TBS Champion On AEW Dynamite Fright Night

An emotional title change closed out Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite: Fright Night, as Queen Aminata defeated Persephone in the main event to capture her first major singles title as the new TBS Champion.

The historic victory came after a grueling battle that saw outside interference from Britt Baker. Baker struck Aminata with the championship belt on the floor, allowing Persephone to capitalize with a top-rope moonsault, but the challenger persevered and kicked out. Aminata responded with a fierce headbutt followed by her signature Off With Her Head running kick to secure the pinfall victory and capture the gold.

Historic Title Victory Closes Fright Night

Following the referee’s three-count, several roster members from the women’s division rushed the ring to celebrate with an emotional Aminata as confetti filled the arena to close out the broadcast.

The win marks a defining milestone in Aminata’s career, coming on her fifth attempt at the TBS Championship over a two-year journey. She becomes the tenth titleholder in the championship’s history, bringing an end to Persephone’s 60-day reign, which included four successful title defenses. The victory also follows previous hard-fought title challenges against ROH Women’s World Champion Athena at Death Before Dishonor 2024 and AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné at Grand Slam Paris.
