Street Profits Win Epic TLC Match on 4/25 SmackDown – The April 25 edition of WWE SmackDown delivered an instant classic in the form of a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships, as The Street Profits defended their titles against DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns in a contest filled with jaw-dropping moments, painful landings, and creative chaos.
In a match that lived up to and arguably surpassed the high expectations set by previous TLC classics, all three teams went to war inside the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. There were plenty of brutal and innovative spots — including a prosthetic leg being introduced as a weapon — and the crowd was treated to one of the most memorable TV matches of the year.
Among the carnage:
- Johnny Gargano was suplexed back-first onto the spines of two upright chairs.
- Chris Sabin launched himself from the top rope to put Tommaso Ciampa through a table with a huge splash.
- Ciampa returned fire with a White Noise on Montez Ford through a ladder bridged on the outside.
- In the match’s most unforgettable moment, Ciampa was hanging from the suspended championship belts when Angelo Dawkins climbed a nearby ladder and delivered a massive spear mid-air, sending both men crashing through a table below.
That wild moment brought echoes of Edge’s legendary spear on Jeff Hardy at WrestleMania X-Seven — only this time, it played out in a fresh twist with Dawkins delivering the move through a table in the center of the ring.
With Ciampa and Dawkins incapacitated, Montez Ford scaled the ladder and pulled down the WWE Tag Team Championships, securing the victory for The Street Profits and retaining their titles.
Not only did The Street Profits walk out with gold still around their waists, but the performance of all six men involved solidified this bout as an all-time TLC highlight. A standing ovation followed the match, with fans online and in attendance quick to call it one of the best matches in SmackDown history.
